Rock is a series of over 100 unique hand prints made from a single negative. This depicts an eroded part of a cliff left stranded on the beach as a result of coastal erosion along one of Europe’s fastest eroding coastlines. The prints made on discontinued silver gelatin papers were processed in plant based developers including seaweed. These unpredictable elements result in a series that defies the sameness and predictability of photographic production. It is an attempt to highlight loss and permanent changes in the landscape due to climate change, and how our memory fades with the passage of time.
